36 Societies Forward Letter Asking Congress To Fix PAMA
In an effort led by NILA, 36 members of the clinical laboratory community and many patient advocacy groups forwarded a letter to leadership of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, House Ways and Means Committee, and the Senate Finance Committee urging Congress to take swift action to reform and modernize PAMA. The letter emphasizes that PAMA jeopardizes access to medical care for Medicare beneficiaries and creates serious public health issues by delaying diagnoses and limiting clinical laboratory services available to vulnerable populations. The letter was forwarded to Congress on August 2, 2018.
