CMS Announces NCCI Edits will be Rescinded

Following NILA’s August 15th letter to CMS, we are thrilled that CMS announced that the NCCI edits will be rescinded in response to NILA and other stakeholder’s advocacy efforts. NCCI edit files will be posted on October 1, 2023, and removal of the edit will be retroactive to July 1, 2023, meaning that any claim affected by the procedure-to-procedure edit will be processed and paid as appropriate under existing payment and coverage policies.
